Tiny Prints is one such site that specializes in baby announcements, shower invitations and thank you's.

Here's a collection of what we think are the best in baby birth announcements.

Designer Baby Photo Announcements

Viva Tiny Prints! I really like the designs from these folks. While every designer at Tiny Prints has a different look, they all share use of modern color schemes, clean lines, and interesting text elements.

In this example, using a black and white photo gives the card a studio feel.

Folded Birth Announcements

We picked this card because of the simple but sweet pram graphic on the front, and way the tri-fold format lets you include a large single photo on the inside.

Tips for Taking for Perfect Baby Photos

As adorable as your little one may be, be prepared to take a lot of photos to get the perfect one for your birth announcement.

  • Take pictures at eye level.
  • Don't use a flash. Use natural lighting if possible.
  • Change to a high ISO (light sensitivity) setting for indoor shots, like 400 or 800.
  • Use a slow shutter speed, like 1/30th second.
  • Place camera on a solid surface or tripod.
  • Using photo editing software, crop out all other distracting images in the photo except for baby.
  • Use all these tips to take close-ups of fingers and toes, arms and legs, not just the face.
