The Proof is in the...Book—Photo Proof Books Keep a Lasting Photographic Record

By Leanne Tremblay

photo proof bookThis is a new product, a new idea really, from Photoworks. It's called the Proof Book, and I LOVE it. None of the other merchants have this as yet so it's worth checking out.

A proof book is basically a printed photo record or archive of an uploaded album. While a photo book tells more of a story—of your trip, a birthday, an anniversary—a proof book is simply all photos professionaly printed in order.

Let's say on a trip to Spain, you took 300 photos. Instead of picking and choosing which ones to incude in a photo book of your holiday, you can print a proof book of all your pictures. You don't have to worry about stacks of prints, or photos going missing from a traditional album.

Cost: 20 pages costs $14. A 300-photo album, four pictures per page costs around $34. That's not bad.

Proof Book Tips

  • BEFORE you begin, choose the desired orientation (portrait versus landscape) for each image in the albums you plan to include in your Proof Book. Choose the picture orientation in My Albums.
  • Review the sequence of your photos in each album you plan to include in your Proof Book. This is the same sequence used in the printing of your book. Reorder photos in My Albums.
  • Edit your image filenames, before making your Proof Book. Filenames will be used as the captions in your Proof Book. Rename photos in My Albums.
  • You CANNOT preview your proof book so make sure your photos are labeled and ordered correctly in your album first.
